Honey Mustard Glazed Ham

Prep time: 20 minutes

Cooking time: Approximately 2 hours

Ingredients:

Hagen’s Ham on the bone (half ingredients for glaze if you have a ½ leg on the bone)

15-30 Cloves

1 Cup of Honey

½ Cup of Seeded Mustard

½ Cup of Brown Sugar

Method:

Let your butcher know you intend to glaze the ham and they will be able to prepare it by cutting back the thicker outer layer of excess fat, leaving a layer of white fat perfect for scoring and glazing.

  1. Pre-heat the oven to 200°C and place one shelf on the bottom wrack. Remove all other shelves.
  2. With a sharp knife, score the fat in a diamond pattern, about 5mm deep.
  3. In each point of the diamond insert a clove. If these should fall out when brushed with glaze, they can be reinserted prior to going into the oven.
  4. Line a baking dish with baking paper, and transfer the ham into the dish.
  5. In a bowl combine honey, sugar and mustard. Brush one third of the glaze over the ham and place in the oven
  6. Bake, brushing with glaze every 25 minutes for 1 ½ hours

Serve warm or place left overs in the fridge, wrapped in your ham bag and enjoy over Christmas!
