Our meats are either cryovaced or sealed in recyclable trays. These trays prolong the shelf life of the product, particularly with meats such as chicken as most of the oxygen is withdrawn from the package, reducing the chance of bacteria growth. Our all natural sausages and burgers (that contain no additives) are also packaged on these trays to ensure they retain their shape and maintain a sufficient shelf life.
For all of our meats, we recommend opening up the meat and allowing it to breath for an hour or so before cooking. Cryovacing the products may slightly alter the smell of the meat, but once exposed to oxygen again, the smell will normalise.
The boxes that we use are made out of 100% recycled cardboard and are specifically designed for meat transportation. They can be recycled in your house-hold recycling bin.
Ensuring your order arrives cold is very important, which is why our durable boxes are delivered in a refrigerated van and lined with an insulated thermal liner and chill gel pack. Both the liner and the chill pack outer can be recycled at your local Red Cycle program bins which are located at most Coles and Woolworths supermarkets. Or better still, put the chill pack into the freezer to use for your next picnic or BBQ!
