If you’ve never tried venison before and you’re a little unsure, these are the perfect option to introduce you to this sustainable and delicious protein!

Ingredients
4 Discovered Wildfoods venison burger patties
2 tomatoes, sliced
¼ red onion, sliced
Half lettuce
4 slices cheese
12 sliced pickles
4 burger buns
Burger sauce
¼ c mayonnaise
2 tbsp tomato sauce
1 tsp dijon mustard
1 tbsp pickle juice
Method
- Take the burger patties out of the fridge 20 mins before you plan on cooking them.
- Ensure all of your toppings are ready to go, then start making the sauce.
- Add all of the sauce ingredients into a bowl and mix thoroughly. Taste and season if necessary.
- Place a heavy based pan on medium high heat and add in a trickle of oil.
- Once hot, add in the burger patties, season with salt and press down with spatula or a burger weight.
- When nicely caramelised on one side (around 3 minutes) turn over and press down again.
- After a minute, add on cheese and finish cooking. Remove from pan.
- Add in the burger buns and briefly toast both sides.
- To assemble the burger, spread a good amount of the sauce on the base of the bun, followed by lettuce, burger pattie, tomato, pickles, onion then more burger sauce and finally the top of the bun.
