Hagen’s Organics at the Prahran Market was the premiere Hagen’s store and was first opened in 1999 by Sue and Royce Hagen.
Initially Sue and Royce had a organic fruit and vegetable store, however, after seeing a growing demand for organic and locally-sourced meat, Sue and Royce then moved into the meat hall to open one of Victoria's first organic butcher shops.
Our Prahran Market store has been part of the South of the River landscape for coming-up 20 years. The locals of our store have come to expect and rely on the high quality of product and service available. Prahran’s product offering has attracted a band of loyal followers for the marrow and haloumi burgers.
Currently, the store is managed by butcher John Bebbington who has built his reputation across his 13 year career as a passionate and diligent professional who has worked locations including Singapore, New Zealand and around Australia. Apprentice butcher and qualified chef Nathan Campbell takes his cues from his extensive cooking history and has worked across Australia and Canada experiencing many cultures and culinary styles.
