RETAIL SALES ASSISTANT
At Hagen’s Organics driving a change in the butchery industry to one of greater transparency in order to better communicate where our meat comes from, how it is raised and by whom.
At Hagen’s Organics, it is our mission to provide clear and open information to our customers about the provenance of our products, history and practices of our producers and how the animals are cared for. We want to educate our customers about these important aspects as we believe it will increase more thoughtful consumption of meat.
We proudly work with some of the most innovative and well-regarded producers of chicken, pork, beef and lamb in the country and we want you to help us share this with the community.
We’re looking for a unique kind of retail assistant to join our team who believes what we believe, whose values are aligned with our company’s. This candidate is passionate about making a positive change in our industry towards more sustainable and ethical consumption of premium quality meat.
Experience in a retail position is preferred, however, we will consider candidates who are passionate, friendly and who have excellent communication skills. If you have the right personality fit with our team we can teach you anything!

Role Duties:
Provide a high quality of customer service
Attention to detail
Practices are undertaken that adhere to HACCP standards at all times
Complete handling of records with great efficiency and absolute accuracy
Operate cohesively in a team, working with other staff, management, and customers
Desirable candidates will have:
Customer service experience
Previous experience in organic and/or butchery/deli
Have fantastic customer service skills, ability to articulate key information to customers without forceful sales tactics
Will be interested in food and cooking (ability to offer cooking suggestions)
Interested in sustainability, ethical consumption and eco-footprint
Display a great attention to detail

QUALIFIED BUTCHER
Hagen’s Organic Butcher are seeking an experienced and passionate butcher to join our expanding team. Centrally located in Richmond, Hagen’s Organics provide our community with organic and biodynamic meat to the highest standard, supporting local farms and families. We foster a friendly and team oriented environment that promotes a healthy work life balance.
The role offers you the opportunity to further and refine your skills in butchery and small goods, with the opportunity to excel among the team.
Role Duties:
Ensure all meat received and prepared is to Hagen’s Organics high standard
The preparation of meat is undertaken with precision with a high level of attention to detail
Provide a high quality of customer service
Cut meat for window preparation to a high standard
Break down meat to an appropriate level as required by the store and wholesale clients
Practices are undertaken that adhere to HACCP standards at all times
Complete handling records with great efficiency and absolute accuracy
Desirable candidates will have :
Previous experience in organic meats
Have fantastic customer service skills
Will be interested in food and cooking (ability to offer cooking suggestions)
Display a great attention to detail
small goods experience preferred
Essential skills:
Minimum of 3 years experience
