Our Father's Day Brisket recipe will guide you through the simple steps of making your dad or someone that deserves to be spoilt a VERY impressive meal that really doesn't require much from you. It's our beer braised brisket, flavoured with a delicious Gewurzhaus' spice rub. The beauty of this recipe, is after a couple of quick steps, the oven does all of the heavy lifting, leaving you with melt-in-the-mouth tender beef brisket. We'd suggest serving in fresh white bread, with some pickles, some cheeky mac and cheese or potatoes and salad. The leftovers are perfect for tacos or in a sandwich.
Take the brisket out of fridge an hour before you plan on cooking and preheat your oven to 160 degrees.
Rub the spice mix all of the brisket and massage into the meat to allow the flavours to penetrate. Do this the night before if you have time, but it’s not absolutely necessary.
In a heavy based fry pan, add in olive and once hot, add in the brisket and brown on both sides.
Scatter the onions on the bottom of a tray and follow with the garlic cloves. Place the brisket on the top.
Pour the beer around the brisket and cover with foil or lid.
Place in the oven and cook for 4 hours or until fork tender.
Remove lid and caramelise the top for 10 minutes.
Shred with forks and stir through the marinating liquid and season as needed.
