The pop-up, aka Hagen’s Market, offers sustainable and ethically sourced meat, locally grown fresh fruit and vegetables, top-quality pantry staples and luscious plants. Expect a range of premium produce from suppliers like Madeleine’s Eggs, Milking Yard Farm, McIvor Pork, L’Artisan Dairy, Bultarra SaltBush Lamb, Mabu Mabu sauces and spices, Market Lane coffee and mushrooms from Damian Pike (Mushroom Man @ Prahran Market).
The Gasometer is a beloved northside live music and food venue. Since COVID-19 forced the local pub to shut its doors for the first time in five years, owner Shannon Vanderwert has taken on the role of heading up Hagen’s fresh produce department. Several Gaso employees have also found work with us too.
Oliver Hagen says, “Having spent hours of my life watching bands or the footy at the Gaso, I’m stoked to partner with them and bring the produce we’re so passionate about to the Collingwood community.”
And the support for the music industry does not stop there, we are providing a 15% discount for musos and road crew when they shop at the pop-up. Our pop-up takes over the Gaso’s main dining room – has been designed and constructed by Mark Wilson, long-time friend of our family and bass player of Jet.
What's next for The Gasometer you might be asking? Shannon says,
“I never imagined that the Gaso’s dining room would become a pop-up grocery store, but here we are! I’m pretty excited about it, especially teaming up with the Hagen family, and I know our locals will be too. Of course, when live music returns, the Gaso will be here - there’s much more life in this old girl yet...”
Some weekends we are flipping burgers, so be sure to check out our Instagram to hear thats going down. We look forward to seeing you soon!
