We're hosting a Meet the Producer event in the lead up to Christmas at the Prahran Market in collaboration with McIvor Farm, Mike Reid of My Market Kitchen and Nathen Doyle of Good Booze Blind. The event will provide an opportunity to gain insight into the cult favourite Christmas Hams that Hagen’s produce in-house each year!
Jason and Belinda Hagan of McIvor Farm will talk through the importance of regenerative farming practices and what goes into cultivating their award-winning Berkshire pigs.
Our head butcher will break down a part of the pig, to demonstrate the process that goes into making their mouth-watering hams.
Good friend and Prahran Market legend, Damian Pike aka 'The Mushroom Man' will talk through the importance of seasonality and cooking with fruit and vege that's in its prime.
Mike Reid of My Market Kitchen willcook with the pork to create a festive centrepiece that the guests canrecreate at home for their Christmas feast. Mike Reid is a British chef who lives for food and cooking and has also appeared on Saturday’s Kitchen, Everyday Gourmet and Asian Unplated.
To complement the food, Good Booze Blind will run through a wine tasting, while educating guests about wine pairing with different proteins. Good Booze Blind is a platform created by Nathen Doyle of Heart Attack and Vine, which aims to teach even the most novice wine drinker how to taste and talk about wine.
